Step-by-step guide

Net Worth Dashboard

Use Net Worth as the command center for assets, liabilities, allocation, liquidity and recent movement.

Start with the active portfolio, net worth, assets, liabilities and review count.

Before you start

Use Net Worth as your first stop when you open a portfolio. It shows the visible balance sheet: assets, liabilities, net worth, review alerts, allocation, liquidity, currency exposure and the largest records driving the total. Held Away stays excluded until you explicitly include it.

You are looking at the correct portfolio in the header.
You understand that Net Worth is only as current as the records behind it.
You know whether Held Away should remain protected or be included for the current session.
You are ready to open Assets, Debts or Capital Review when a number needs explanation.
You do not treat the dashboard as audited financial statements.

Detailed steps

01

Open Net Worth and confirm the active portfolio

Open Net Worth from the left navigation. Check the portfolio name before reading any number. The top cards show net worth, assets, liabilities and Capital Review count. Net worth is assets minus liabilities for the visible portfolio data.

Start with the active portfolio, net worth, assets, liabilities and review count.
02

Read the cockpit overview before drilling into records

Use the overview to understand the big picture: accessible value, locked capital, largest allocation and main currency. This tells you whether the portfolio is cash-heavy, real-estate-heavy, debt-heavy, concentrated or exposed to a currency you should review.

The overview connects total net worth to composition, liquidity and currency readouts.
03

Open Assets to see what drives the asset total

Switch to the Assets chart tab when the asset total needs explanation. Use it to see which asset classes dominate the balance sheet. If one asset class is unexpectedly large, open Assets or the Largest positions table before trusting the allocation.

Use Assets to see which asset classes dominate the visible balance sheet.
04

Open Debts to check liability pressure

Switch to Debts when liabilities materially affect net worth. Mortgage, loan and credit-card balances reduce net worth and can change Forecast. If debt looks wrong, open Debts and verify balances, rate, payment and maturity.

Use Debts to understand liability pressure before opening the Debts workspace.
05

Open Liquidity to separate accessible value from locked capital

Use Liquidity to understand what can realistically become cash. Daily or monthly liquidity is different from locked real estate, private assets or collectibles. Do not treat locked value as spendable just because it appears in net worth.

Use Liquidity to separate accessible cash-like value from locked capital.
06

Inspect Largest positions, Access profile and Exposure

Scroll to Largest positions and the lower panels. The table shows the records driving the dashboard; Access profile summarizes liquidity; Exposure shows currency concentration. Use this section to decide what to add, edit, verify or open in Capital Review.

Largest positions, Access profile and Exposure show what is driving the dashboard.

Field guide

Net worth

Visible assets minus visible liabilities.

If the number surprises you, check Assets, Debts and Held Away status.
Assets

Total visible asset value in the selected portfolio.

Open Assets when the total needs record-level review.
Liabilities

Total visible debt and credit exposure.

Open Debts when a mortgage, loan or card balance looks stale or missing.
Capital Review

Count of open review items or portfolio checks.

Open it before making decisions from incomplete or flagged data.
Accessible value

Daily or monthly liquidity shown in the dashboard.

This is closer to available capital than total net worth, but still needs context.
Locked capital

Value that is harder or slower to turn into cash.

Real estate and private assets can be valuable but not immediately spendable.
Largest allocation

The asset class with the biggest visible exposure.

Use it to spot concentration risk quickly.
Main currency

Currency with the largest visible exposure.

Open Currency when FX exposure matters.

Decision rules

What it adds

  • Creates one reconciled view of the current capital structure.
  • Highlights where wealth is concentrated by asset class, currency and liquidity.
  • Gives a fast route into Capital Review when records need attention.

What it does not do

  • It is a portfolio operating view, not audited financial statements.
  • Values depend on the latest manual, imported or market-refreshed records.
  • Held Away details stay protected unless private mode is unlocked.

Common mistakes

What to check

  • Check valuation dates before making decisions from stale private assets.
  • Net worth can move because of FX, market price, manual edits, debt changes or imported transactions.
  • Use exports carefully when private Held Away assets should remain excluded.

Reading net worth without checking the active portfolio.

Assuming Held Away is included when the banner says it is protected.

Treating locked property or private assets as available cash.

Ignoring liabilities because the asset total looks high.

Using dashboard totals without opening Capital Review when review items exist.

Confusing currency exposure with portfolio base currency.

Assuming manual values are current without checking valuation dates and sources.

After you save

  • Open Assets when an asset value needs explanation.
  • Open Debts when liability totals need explanation.
  • Open Capital Review when review items are visible.
  • Use Add Capital Item or Import Statement when the dashboard is incomplete.
  • Review liquidity before treating net worth as available budget.
  • Keep Held Away protected unless you intentionally need private values visible in this session.
