Capital Review Settings

Tune benchmark profile, cash target, liquidity, currency and private exposure thresholds to the portfolio owner.

Current Capitelist screen for Capital Review Settings.

Before you start

Start from the current portfolio state and treat the article as an operating checklist. If a required input is missing, record that gap instead of inventing precision.

You have current source evidence available.
You know whether the value is verified, imported or estimated.

Detailed steps

01

Open Capital Review settings

Start from the screen named in the step and confirm the portfolio in the top bar before you change anything. If the wrong portfolio is selected, switch portfolios first.

02

Select the benchmark profile that best matches the owner

Pick the option that matches the real-world record you are adding or reviewing. If two options look similar, use the one that matches the source document, not the one that makes totals look cleaner.

03

Adjust cash, illiquid exposure, currency concentration, private exposure and stale valuation thresholds

Use this step to turn loose information into a clear portfolio record. If you are missing an input, note the gap instead of guessing.

04

Save settings and rerun or review the resulting queue

Save only when the record reflects the source. After saving, the change can affect Net Worth, Capital Review, Forecast, exports and shared views.

Field guide

Name

The label you and your advisors will recognize.

Match source documents where possible.
Value

Current portfolio value.

Use current value, not purchase price, unless cost is the only defensible estimate.
Currency

Native currency of the asset or liability.

Do not change currency to force a base-currency display.
Valuation date

When the value was last reviewed.

Missing dates create stale-data risk.
Method/source

Why the value is credible.

Use imported, market, appraisal, manager mark or internal estimate honestly.

Decision rules

What it adds

  • Makes review output more relevant than generic rules.
  • Documents the operating policy behind portfolio checks.
  • Supports different standards for different portfolios.

What it does not do

  • Settings are not a replacement for an investment policy statement.
  • Aggressive thresholds can hide real risks.
  • Changing settings can change the queue without changing the portfolio.

Common mistakes

What to check

  • Record why thresholds were changed.
  • Use stricter stale valuation thresholds for portfolios with many private assets.
  • Review settings after major life, tax or jurisdiction changes.

Entering a clean-looking value without recording where it came from.

Ignoring currency, ownership percentage or valuation date because the total appears reasonable.

Using ordinary notes for private access information.

Assuming Capital Review Settings produces advice, verification or execution beyond the workflow described here.

After you save

  • Return to Net Worth and confirm totals changed as expected.
  • Open Capital Review to see whether the record created, resolved or changed any review item.
  • Check whether the record should affect Forecast, Investment Plan, exports or share links.
  • Revisit this pro guide when source evidence changes.
